Exposing and cultivating artists of every medium has never been more exciting for the RAW Byron Bay artists and crew.

On Wednesday 20th August, industry professionals, head-hunters, and art lovers will head to one of the region’s leading music venues; The Beach Hotel, Byron Bay, for the highly anticipated showcase: ‘Allure’, to enjoy a display of diverse talent in an evening dedicated to celebrating local emerging artists.

Now in its second year, and more than half way through the 2014 season, RAW Byron Bay is fast developing a reputation as one of the most fun, unique, and organic cultural events in the Northern Rivers region.

Director Abbie Gibson said she was proud to say that all showcases this year have sold in excess of 650 tickets, filling the popular beachfront venue, which not only meant great exposure for the featured artists, but a great night for the audience too.

“RAW showcases have repeatedly proved to be a fantastic opportunity for the artists who are hand selected to exhibit their work. They are exposed to potential business, potential job opportunities and the opportunity to create networks with like-minded people.”

Local attendee, Andi Barrioneuvo said, “Overall RAW Byron Bay is a highly enjoyable event each and every time. The venue brings a modern and fun twist to the showcase and allows a really well run event to be both professional and entertaining. There is consistently a diverse selection of talent showcased and for that I am always looking forward to the next one.”

RAW:natural born artists is an international independent arts organisation that hand-selects and spotlights independent creatives. Its global community provides up-and-coming artists of all mediums and genres with the resources, exposure and networks needed to pursue a fruitful career in their chosen creative field.

Visual artist and RAW Byron Bay 2013 Artist of the Year Carmel Debreuil sold a painting at RAW and now has “an international network of creative people.” She has since gone on to hold exhibitions in Melbourne and Brisbane, and said being a RAW artist has helped her transition into a full-time professional artist in the last two years.

RAW events are 18+. Tickets are $15 pre-sale or $20 at the door.
