People Power

The Byron Bay community came together in a big, bold and beautiful way on Sunday for a Rally and March against Coal Seam Gas locally and nationally.

CG Contributor Jarrah Linklater was down there to photograph the Protest Rally. It’s incredible to see how powerful we are as a community coming together.

“I have been in the Byron shire most my life, living in Ocean Shores and Brunswick heads a 15 minute drive north of Byron Bay. I love it here. It will always be my home. I went to school at Shearwater Steiner School out in Mullumbimby. All through primary and high school, I was lucky enough to go on school excursions to tropical islands, the middle of Australia, China, and New Zealand. This has given me a love for the landscapes that this world has to offer. Recently, I picked up photography in December 2010 from my girlfriend Alani. My friends then got together and got me a Canon 500D for my birthday, since then I have been down on the shore taking shots of surfers with my little kit lenses, and getting some nice landscapes in-between. I have gotten quite addicted to photography and I don’t plan on quitting!”
