The Taste Tweed – Winter Food Festival 2019 program has officially launched!

With a full and exciting program, the festival, to be held 5-14 July, has something for every budget, taste and interest. There are tours, lunches, tastings, dinners, markets, cooking classes and fashion events… with the majority of these free to enter!

As part of the 125 Year Anniversary celebrations at the NSW DPI Wollongbar Primary Industries Institute, a series of masterclasses are being held in the lead up to the Institute Open Day on Saturday 24 August.

NSW DPI presenters will take masterclass participants on a journey to better understand the “how and why” of R&D projects. A surprisingly diverse range of topics will be covered in the masterclass program, ranging from All things intertidal which will involve exploring the 400 year old mangroves at Duck Creek Station, to visiting a commercial timber plantation to find out how to get your plantation authorised for a harvest guarantee, and understanding the components of an Integrated Pest management program.

In addition, complementary activities at the Open Day will include tours of our laboratory and bioscience facilities, a soil research tour, rainforest remnant tour and a history collection tour. Working dog demonstrations and a machinery display are also planned for the day.

The 2019 Sample Food Festival will again showcase the finest produce, chefs, new products, artists and entrepreneurs from our region and beyond!! The festival has an array of live music, fun activities and workshops for all ages.

The Fabulous Ladies Wine Soiree will be held at Barrio Byron Bay on Thursday 5th September from 6.30pm.
