Ghostlands : Photos and Words by Joggly

Lighthouse ghosts, looking for someone to surf with is often folk lore of our vast continents deep south. Who would think with just a little extra foresight and an addiction to anticipation, you can mysteriously disappear to a forbidding lonely land , the Ghostlands.

Stood atop cold blowy clifftops surveying an ocean of empty unridden waves. Winter waves as good as they get. You are alone but you feel others are watching, they are watching. From above, from below, and then there’s that whisper from the inside….  Get back in your car, turn off your mobile phone, and go back from where you came from.

A good friend of Common Ground is the enigma named "Joggly". He is rumoured to sell banana's at the Farmers Market on Thursday's in Byron Bay. He also has a habit of getting waves in those places you would look only when it's too late. You might find him creeping in the sand dunes, and bringing you a unique photographic perception of our wonderful, eccentric community.
